The main idea is to use the entire site as a Memorial to honor the victims, the heroes, their families and the beliefs of the entire American Community.
The inspiration emerges from twin towers footprints from which a grid evolves as the guiding wisdom of the entire design.
The footprints remain vacant and marked by reflective pools. This water represents the unambiguous values of our Society.
The corners of the footprints are marked by structural elements formed by the collective strength of many elements. They are connected to each other and to other similar structural elements on the new grid that evolved from the footprints.
These structural elements are illuminated from within and represent the
unwavering strength of America, which is made not by a couple of buildings but
by the collective effort and determination of the American people.
The entire ground plane becomes a place for Memorial. But high above that and emerging from the essence of the ground is still thriving the spirit of America
Above the Memorial, the built spaces support many of the ideals that America thrives on --a Museum of New York City, a World Class Performing Arts Center, Commercial-Retail, and Office Space.
The New York site becomes not only a Memorial to those who perished but to those who will not relent.
